7. 不要以惡報惡，要準備在眾人面前作善美的事。若是可能，總要盡力與眾人和睦。親愛的，不要為自己伸冤，寧可給神的忿怒留地步，因為經上記著：“主說，伸冤在我，我必報應。”反而“你的仇敵若餓了，就給他喫，若渴了，就給他喝，因為你這樣行，就是把炭火堆在他的頭上。”你不可為惡所勝，反要以善勝惡。

－羅馬書12:17-21

Repay no one evil for evil; take forethought for things honorable in the sight of all men. If possible, as far as it depends on you, live in peace with all men. Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.'' But "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will heap coals of fire upon his head.'' Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good. (Romans 12：17-21)
